Show Up, Always

It’s been 2 weeks since I attended an empowering, life changing, and business altering conference in Atlanta. I was surrounded by so many women of influence, power and change. The last time I attended anything of this magnitude was before 2020! The speakers addressed  branding, public relations marketing, business ownership (ie. Intellectual property & trademarking), wealth management & legacy creation, thought leadership and so much more. There was so much value packed into 3 days. When I walked out of the room, I was overwhelmed, excited and tired. My cup was full.

I must admit, the  journal I had been given was full of notes. I was full of emotion and inspired. The energy I felt in the room was something my soul was in need of. I needed a fresh dose of creativity. I needed fresh insight on who I was and what my purpose really is. I experienced so many highs. It was a rollercoaster of emotions.  While I was in the conference, I questioned myself with what direction my business needed to take. When I left the conference, I asked myself “What’s next?, What are you going to do differently this time?” To be completely honest, I didn’t really have an answer at that moment.

When I got home I shared my experience with my husband and friends. But still I had the achy question…what are you going to do with all of this? Where do I need to take action? How can I build what I have into something better?

I know I’m not the first one to attend a conference and experience the rush of adrenaline. It’s infectious. But usually within a few days, that feeling wears off and we go right back into our routines and ruts. We reminisce about the feeling, but we seldom take massive action. Within a few short weeks, the excitement wears off and the journal of notes gathers dust. What follows next are the excuses as to why our business, or decisions are at a standstill.

However, this time it was different for me. I decided to be different.  Last Monday morning, as I sat meditating in my living room, I had a huge download. I mean it jolted me out of my meditation!  I’ve shared with my clients many times the value of creating a habit of stillness early in the morning. It’s the best time for me  to hear from God. I’m so grateful I have this habit. Within a matter of minutes, I was writing feverishly in my journal. I kept saying to myself…WHAT! REALLY! ARE YOU SERIOUS! The framework that I needed to 10X my business was on fire!  When I say it was on point…it was on point!! On many occasions, I’ve shared with my clients, audiences and community the value of self-care. I’ve taught little bits and pieces about what it should look like. But the struggle that people really have is HOW. How can I practice self-care? What do I REALLY need to do? What are the tangible steps that can be put into practice? What I received that morning, is the why & the how.  I now know exactly how to teach you step by step in a way that makes sense and that is implementable. The beautiful thing about what I received is that it’s not only for individuals, it’s for corporations.

Why am I sharing this with you? A mentor taught me years ago that success leaves clues. There are times you may be wondering if you’re on the right path. You might be doubting yourself and the value of your impact. The clues you are looking for are not fancy. Simply put:

Stay the course.

Stay consistent.

Stay in the game.

Show up, always.

The key to your success is practicing your craft, regardless of how you feel, or how much money you’re making today. Practice the philosophy that Steven Covey taught years ago: Be. Do. Have.

Pay attention to the clues and always be vigilant. The time will come for your breakthrough. Just be ready because when it comes there’s no holding it back.
